Remembering.

Keeping those who defend our nation in prayer.

Praying for the families who wait at home.

Thank you!

Blessings,
Kathy

  1. I was a caregiver for a retired Coast Guard Commander and he'd often tell me about being stationed in Hawaii. Both he and his wife described the destruction they saw at Pearl Harbor when they arrived. I can't begin to imagine how the families felt.

  2. what a historic speech by FDR. It must be so hard for families whose loved one are in battle. I'm watching "Upstairs, Downstairs" --- think I'm on Session 3 --- and they are at war (WWI). I'm so involved with everyone. {:-D

    1. Yes, it was a very powerful speech. It is hard for the families - but supporting their family member in the service has been comforting to those I have known.

  3. We recently officially dedicated the WWII Memorial here at Wesley Bolin Plaza - there are guns from the USS Arizona and the USS Missouri and the following website shows the process as it was being built: www.gunstosalutethefallen.com - There were 7 survivors from the USS Arizona in attendance at the dedication on the 7th.

  4. I can't imagine what it was like on that day. We visited Pearl Harbor and with the movies, photos and the tour to the ship, it's still unimaginable.

    1. It was such a surprise that people were in total shock. News did not travel as fast in those days, either. It is unimaginable!
