An investment of time.

One year.  12 months.  52 weeks.  365 days.  What kind of difference can this investment of time make?

Love, commitment, patience, prayer - and time - can make a huge difference!

Here is sweet Sophia at the airport for her homecoming in March 2011.

2012 with "Baby"

And, one year later, here is sweet Sophia!

Yes, she has her own 'baby wrap' now.  Her little baby doll has seen a lot of mileage - she belonged to Cynthia when she was a toddler.  I asked Cynthia what she was going to call her baby.  "Baby" was her answer.  "Yes" I said, "but what is her name?"  She looked at me like I was a little dense and said, firmly, "Baby".  Baby was loved by Cynthia, kept by me, and presented to Mikayla who loved her and then passed her on to Naomi.  Naomi loved her and has now passed her on to Sophia, who, as you can see, is having a wonderful time loving Baby.  Quite a change!

Would you like to make this kind of difference in a child's life?
  • Explore the option of adoption.  You might be surprised - there are options for adopting children of all ages, nationalities, and with costs varying from very large to very small.
  • Investigate the option of fostering children.  There are many reasons that a child, either temporarily or permanently, is without a home and/or parents.  Check with your local agencies to learn more about Foster Care and Foster Adoptions.
  • Skip an expensive latte or two, and you have enough to give a donation to help an organization who puts hands and feet on the ground where it is most needed.  Make your lattes at home, and you will have enough to sponsor a child through Compassion International or World Vision.
Invest a little time to think about it.  Then give it a good dose of prayer, and see what miracles just might unfold right in front of you.

But Jesus said, "Suffer little children, and forbid them not,
to come unto me: for such is the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 19:14

  1. Such a sweet little girl, and what a blessing! I believe I remember Baby sitting on the couch in her altogether waiting for the new dress that Cynthia (or was it you?) was making for her???

  2. haha - You are sooo right, Karin! Baby has been through several bodies and has had lots of wardrobe additions, too. She is a little love worn - but that makes her even more special. Cynthia and I have tried to find another baby like Baby, but we haven't found any that are close. Sophia loves her as much as all the girls have ;-) She carries her all around the house and always wants her 'baby sling' - too cute!

  3. What a beautiful little girl! Her story is incredible and I am sure her life is filled with love.
