Memorial Day ~ A time to remember

WWII

That very young man kneeling second from the left in this photograph would be my Dad.

Dad did come home from WWII, but some of his shipmates and friends didn't.

Take a little time today to remember those who have given their lives for our country and say a prayer for the families that they have left behind.  Then add a little prayer for all of those who are protecting our freedom today.

God bless,
Kathy

  1. My grandpa was also in WWII. He flew a plane. I love hearing his stories :)

  4. memories - My Uncle was an arial photographer during WWII - He had quite a few tales to tell.

storybeader - My Dad never talked about his time in the Navy. I have learned about his service through other sources. This photograph was sent to my sister from one of the other men who is pictured here.

Thanks, Lee! Hope you had a great day, too!

  7. My Grandad was aboard the USS Franks during that time period as well. A DD 554 is not a great big boat. They probably crossed paths. (:
