Pet sitting at the "Paulden Rodeo" this week!

Horses and Hounds and Highjinks, Oh MY!

umm...  aren't the dogs supposed to run and the horses supposed to buck?

Glory - looking for the next adventure!

Gotcha - ready to go munch and be a couch potato!

Glory and Gotcha are rescued greyhounds who have been adopted through Greyhound Pets of America.  Glory raced on the track and Gotcha did not race - but they both have a loving home now thanks to being adopted by Cynthia and Timothy.

These dogs are a lot of fun and they do, indeed, show the wonderful temperment that these 40 mile per hour couch potatoes have.  Looking for a fun pet?  Check out adopting a greyhound!

And, yep, they fit right in with my zoo *winks*

  1. I love this blog post and the photo's! Thank you for sharing.

I'm particularly please when these awesome, loving, couch potato furbabies find a forever home and wish racing was no longer legal.

We have the mini size, a rescued Italian Greyhound that sleeps under the covers with us every night and wears an infants sweatshirt with the sleeves rolled up in the cooler temps.

Yup, she's totally spoiled and I love it!

  2. Hehehe....I love the bucking dog :)
And I love that they are both adopted furbabies :)

  3. Tulips - It was a dream of my daughter's since she was in High School and saw her first greyhound from the GPA. She told her husband before they were married that when they got a house, she wanted a greyhound. He married her knowing that! lol! What a guy - he even let her get the second one, too =p

memories - Gotcha is very special - she does some of the funniest things! It is nice to see them in such a loving home.

  4. Beautiful Greyhounds, it's wonderful that they were adopted! Looks like they enjoyed the day at the rodeo!

  5. Pam - they have been chasing my horses everyday when I let them run! Um... better the horses than the rabbit! ack!

  6. Love greyhounds. Nice dogs. Great shots with the horses.

  7. Thanks, Carole - it was sooooo much fun to watch them run, but REALLY hard to get a good shot of them doing that! They are fast!

  8. I love the fact that all your animals seem so very happy and interested in life. It's great to see animals healthy and well cared-for - it's even better to see them healthy, well cared-for, and happy.
It is beautiful to behold. Bless you, Kathy, for creating a home where God's creatures can be so happy.

  9. Thank you, Silverlight =) This was the first visit that my daughter's greyhounds had at my house. The city dogs did have a lot of fun with the country critters and the horses had fun racing them down the fence! It was a lot of fun to watch!
